Pressure and shear flow singularities: Fluid splitting and printing nip hydrodynamics

A numerical simulation of the fluid flow in gravure printing nip, based on a discontinuous Galerkin algorithm, is used to study fluid-splitting process and transition between point lamella splitting. We pressure shear singularities at contact cylinder substrate as function variable microscopic residual gap variations quantities introduced nip. As hydrodynamic boundary value problem ill-defined by nip singularity, we enhance using renormalization group algebraic scaling techniques order obtain numerically stable physically meaningful prediction. Our simulations are compared analytical results from lubrication theory experimental observations press.

We study one parameter deformations of a pair consisting of an analytic singular space X0 and a function f0 on it, in case this defines an isolated singularity. We prove, under general conditions, a bouquet decomposition of the Milnor fibre when the isolated singularity splits in the deformation and the invariance of the Milnor fibration if there is no splitting.
